Nahitan Nandez returns to Cagliari for pre-season training, but might not stay for long, as the Uruguayan reportedly pushes for a move to Inter, who are yet to convince President Tommaso Giulini.

The Uruguay internationals Nandez and Diego Godin return to Sardinia today, where the Casteddu are currently preparing at Assemini for a friendly against Augsburg on Saturday.

Coach Leonardo Semplici will have the Copa America protagonists back in training this week, with Godin and Nandez returning to the Rossoblu.

But La Gazzetta dello Sport reports the latter might not remain for too long, as the midfielder has been pushing for a move to reunite with Nicolò Barella at San Siro.

Cagliari, however, are asking for the €36m in Nandez’s release clause at the Sardegna Arena and Inter have not been able to satisfy the requests from Giulini so far.

The report believes Nandez will discuss with the managers at Assemini, but patron Giulini will have the final say in this summer’s transfer saga between Inter and Cagliari.
