Nahitan Nández can still join Inter provided that a midfielder leaves the Nerazzurri, but Atalanta are also interested, it’s reported.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Cagliari midfielder still hopes to leave the Sardinians and the Nerazzurri are strongly interested in securing his services.

Nandez started in Cagliari’s Serie A opener against Spezia last weekend but wants to leave the club before August 31.

Inter had been in talks to sign him for a long time earlier this summer, but they eventually signed Denzel Dumfries from PSV Eindhoven to replace Achraf Hakimi.

According to the report, both Inter and Atalanta remain interested in securing the services of the Uruguay international and so are Leeds and Tottenham, although the Serie A duo are ahead of both Premier League sides in the race to sign the 25-year-old.

Inter can still sign Nandez, but only if one of their midfielders leave.

The Nerazzurri are working on the sale of Arturo Vidal, who remains on the market despite scoring one goal against Genoa on Saturday.

Inter will announce the signing of Joaquin Correa from Lazio today.
