Radja Nainggolan faces his Roma teammate Miralem Pjanic in Bosnia-Belgium. “He’s one of the best in the world.”

The two nations meet in a Euro 2016 qualifier on Monday evening.

“Miralem is one of the best midfielders in the world,” Nainggolan told Belgian television RTFB.

“He might not be that strong physically, but in terms of techniques there are few who can beat him, plus he has a fantastic shot from distance.

“Man-marking is necessary to keep him quiet. I am confident that with our qualities we can win in Bosnia. The atmosphere is going to be fiery, but in Italian football I am accustomed to that, so I no longer pay attention to what’s happening off the field.”

Nainggolan was surprisingly left out of Belgium’s World Cup squad, but won over fans, media and Coach Marc Wilmots with his performance against Andorra this week.

“So far the attention I received here is good. When I was at Cagliari I was playing at the same level, but didn’t get as much publicity.

“If I had been a young player in Belgium, I probably would’ve had more consideration.”
