“I made my decision to stay here, I am happy with my choice,” Nainggolan told Sky Sport Italia today.
“I reiterated it many times, here we can win and I will try to win here. I never had any regrets over that decision.”
On Sunday Roma take on their local rivals Lazio in the Derby della Capitale and only one point separates them.
“Lazio are still behind us and at the moment the points in the table are what speak for us. Lazio are having a good campaign, as are we, and they play good football. We must be careful, but we can win.”
The bad news for Roma is that they will be without injured Mohamed Salah for approximately three weeks.
“He is an important player for us, but those who do step on to the field in his place will know what to do and have every reason to impress. We don’t require extra motivation.
“We have three difficult games coming up in December against sides in the top four. We must try to win and prove our potential. First of all we must concentrate on the derby and only later think about Milan and Juventus.
“Juve are struggling a little more than in previous years, so I believe that is something we ought to make the most of. It all depends on us, how we play and getting the results. We have to believe in ourselves.”
Nainggolan has changed position recently, essentially taking a trequartista role behind the strikers.
“I am at the disposal of the Coach and if he sees me doing well in that role, it’s true I do have more opportunities to get closer to the goal. It’s a different role, I am still improving, but I try to do what the Coach asks.”
