Inter fans have been left anxious after Radja Nainggolan discussed some conversations he’d had with Belgium star Romelu Lukaku.

The 29-year-old striker was called up for the World Cup in Qatar by coach Roberto Martinez but was forced to miss Belgium’s first game against Canada due to a hamstring injury, which has been plaguing him since last August. Martinez suggested today that Lukaku may appear off the bench in the second game against Morocco tomorrow.

Speaking to Belgian outlet DH, Nainggolan discussed his closeness to a few players from the Red Devils squad.

“I’m in contact with a few of the guys. Jan Vertonghen, for example, sent me a video on Instagram of me sitting in the stands with Roberto Carlos, Cafu and Casillas, with the message, what the hell are you doing here?”

He then discussed some conversations he’d had recently with Inter star Lukaku.

“I also talk to Mertens and Lukaku, who wants to play on Sunday. I wouldn’t take too many risks with him, at Inter he has already missed so many games. If he suffers another injury, they won’t be happy.”

The 29-year-old Lukaku is clearly desperate to impress at this World Cup and could make a brief return to action in tomorrow’s game against Morocco. He is desperate to start in Belgium’s final group game against Croatia on December 1.

Some Inter fans are starting to grow concerned that Lukaku will rush back from injury for the time, which could exacerbate his condition.

  1. I really like Nainggolan. Even my brother who madrid fans watch Inter because him. Unfortunately he played when suning and marotta era. If he play when moratti in charge he will treated differently. Less drama.
