La Gazzetta dello Sport asked Nainggolan whether he agreed that Roma had started the championship off on the right footing.

“Yes, in spite of the draw with Verona, which is still a difficult pitch to play on,” he said.

“Having said that, if we hadn't won against Juventus, people would be saying the opposite about Roma's start.

“Let's say that we did well and that we earned the joy of beating the Bianconeri.

“The Old Lady weaker than usual? No, Juventus are always Juventus, and they'll be back up on their feet in no time.

“But we bolstered our squad and gave them a hard time.

“And we signed a great striker, even though we already had some very strong players.

“Dzeko is physically strong, he's good at protecting the ball, and he's so confident when aiming for the goal that it's almost embarrassing.”
