“Conte really wants me at Chelsea and I hear strange voices from Roma,” Nainggolan was quoted as telling Rai Sport today.
However, the midfielder wrote to the journalist who broke the story via Twitter with this message: "I am supposed to have spoken to you? When?"
He could be referring to the €45m reports or the fact Miralem Pjanic will join Juventus after the activation of his €38m release clause.
Nainggolan said he would not speak to Pjanic again if he were to make the move to their bitter Serie A rivals.
This comment is not what Roma fans wanted to hear, as their midfield is being dismantled over the summer.
