Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan said ‘strong players on paper are not enough’, as the Rossoblu ‘concede naïve goals’ in the 2-0 defeat to Milan.

Nainggolan stressed the Casteddu ‘didn’t have a bad game’ against the League leaders but admitted the position might make them ‘a bit tense’.

“We all have to give more, today we didn’t have a bad game. We concede naïve goals, then it’s difficult to score points against teams like this,” Nainggolan told Sky Sport Italia.

“We all have to give more, today we didn’t have a bad game. We concede naïve goals, then it’s difficult to score points against teams like this,” Nainggolan told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’s not fear, even if with these results it’s a bit tense. The team has quality, we have to bring out a little more personality.

“Strong players on paper are not enough, you have to show it for every minute of the games.”

Nainggolan returned to Cagliari this winter but has not been able to help them win since his move from Inter.

“I have nothing to regret, I’m happy with what I gave. I came back here because I needed to play, if Inter win, I’m happy for them.

“But I’m focused on saving Cagliari.”

Cagliari are 17th in Serie A after 18 games, whilst Milan are now three points clear at the top of the table.
