Inter full-back Yuto Nagatomo has been told he does not require surgery after dislocating his shoulder against Celtic.

The Japanese international was stretchered off in agony after the accidental knock during the 2-0 win on July 30.

There were fears he would require an operation to stabilise the right shoulder and be out of action for up to two months.

However, Inter announced this afternoon that Nagatomo received good news from the Prefectural Hospital in Hiroshima, where he went for a specialist consultation.

He will not go under the knife, instead following a course of conservative therapy, which means he’ll return to Italy in the middle of next week.
