The Milan players chanted ‘MVP’ at goalkeeper Mike Maignan as he made his way back into the dressing room after his side’s emphatic 3-1 victory away against reigning champions Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The France national team goalkeeper was awarded with the player of the match award after a particularly strong performance against his international colleague Kylian Mbappé at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Maignan was one of several players singled out for individual praise by the Italian media in the aftermath of the Real Madrid victory, alongside the likes of Rafael Leao and Tijjani Reijnders.
After being presented with the player of the match award on the Bernabeu pitch, Maignan made his way back into the dressing room where he was serenaded by his delighted Rossoneri teammates.
