The midfielder completed his transfer from Rubin Kazan after weeks of complex negotiations and red tape issues, so was presented to the media today.
“The team’s objective is to finish in the top three and earn a place in the Champions League,” he said in his Press conference.
“I gave up on money to come here, as the economic aspect is not the only thing I’m interested in. I love football, I’m at an important club, I’m only 24 so I have time to earn more.
“When making my decision to join Inter, I above all looked at the project. I want to fly the Inter flag high.
“I was a little afraid the move would break down, as I know the Russian mentality, but fortunately it all went well.”
M’Vila was asked about his reputation as the ‘bad boy’ of French football and adapting to the rigours of Serie A training.
“The rumours of my behaviour were spread by French journalists. Perhaps I was bad in the past, but now everything is behind me and I have changed.
“I knew training would be tough and I’ve experienced it now, but I can say that if all this hard work gets good results then I can only be happy with it. I’m also on a special diet now, so after the US tour I should be ready and in great shape.
“I won’t disguise that on a tactical level I like to play in front of the defence, but that’s not my only position, so I’ll adapt to the choices and to my teammates. I haven’t spoken to the Coach about that yet.”
