Shkodran Mustafi visited his old Sampdoria teammates and told them not to “set limits” as they fight for Europe.
The Valencia defender left over the summer and was in Genoa today to attend a training session.
“I spent three wonderful years here and remained very fond of everyone. I still have many friends here and every time I get the opportunity, I like to come back and see them,” Mustafi told gianlucadimarzio.com.
Samp are currently joint fifth in Serie A with Fiorentina and mounting a challenge for European qualification.

“I try to watch Sampdoria games whenever I can. They are growing week by week and doing some truly great work.
“They also have a Coach and a club who know what they want and that represents a bonus.
“Like my Valencia, I don’t think Sampdoria should set themselves any limits. In my view in football you can achieve anything if you plan well and do it the right way.
“Sampdoria have quality and everything necessary to reach an important objective.”
