La Repubblica report that Sampdoria are ‘working hard’ to fend off interest from Germany in Shkodran Mustafi.

The young defender’s impression made for the Blucerchiati last season was enough to earn him a place in Germany’s provisional World Cup squad last month.

Whilst it was not enough to then see him make Joachim Low’s final 23 announced earlier this week, unnamed clubs from the Bundesliga are said to have taken note.

Whilst nothing official is believed to have been tabled at this stage, La Repubblica report more than one club from Germany’s top flight has taken a look at the 22-year-old.

It is a situation that reportedly has new director Ariedo Braida working with sporting director Carlo Osti ‘working hard’ on, to ensure Samp keep hold of the defender for next term.
