Reports in Spain insist Yunus Musah has agreed personal terms with Milan and considers them his favoured destination, while talks with Valencia hope to lower the €25m asking price with a clause.
The 20-year-old midfielder can also play in an attacking role on the right wing and that kind of versatility makes him a valuable figure for Stefano Pioli’s team.
He also would not take up a slot for non-EU players, as the United States international has a Spanish passport too, as well as English.
According to Relevo in Spain, Musah has given the all-clear to Milan and put them at the top of his list, ahead of Inter and clubs in the Premier League, including West Ham United.
Milan still need to agree a fee and won’t pay the €25m asking price, but there could be ways of lowering the costs of the operation.
The report suggests one way is to include a clause giving Valencia a cut of any future transfer fee.
