Yunus Musah reveals Christian Pulisic texted him as soon as he joined Milan, pushing to reunite at San Siro and believes Spain and Man City’s Rodri is the best midfielder in the world.

Musah released an interview with DAZN ahead of Sunday’s big Serie A game between Milan and Juventus.

The Rossoneri are the current Serie A leaders and have only lost one league game so far, although it was a 5-1 loss against Inter in the derby della Madonnina in September.

“After such a defeat, you can cry or react and we reacted,” said Musah.

“We were all angry, we didn’t want to lose that way. It was a blow and we used it as a motivation.”

Musah confirmed former Milan midfielder Franck Kessié is among his role models.

“I watched him play when he was here. He did really well,” he said.

“He’s an example for me. He won the Scudetto and it is our target too, that’s what we want to do. It would be amazing.”

How did Pioli help the American midfielder settle in following his transfer from Valencia?

“He helped me understand the system. He also helps me with many details and speaks to me after every training session. I played in many roles during my career. Sometimes I had to replace injured players, so now people know I could play everywhere.”

When asked who the best midfielder in the world is, Musah replied: “It must be Rodri, no?” The 20-year-old also said that San Siro is the best stadium he’s ever played in and added he’d like to face Paul Pogba as an opponent one day.

Unfortunately, they can’t cross paths on Sunday as the Frenchman has been suspended after failing a doping test.

“All games are difficult, especially against these clubs. There are high-level players. There are big expectations for these games. Weston [McKennie] and Tim [Weah] are there, so it will be nice to face them.”

Musah has reunited with his compatriot Pulisic at San Siro. The American winger joined the Rossoneri from Chelsea in July, while Musah arrived from Valencia a month later.

“It’s nice to have Christian here. We’ve known each other for a long time and it’s good to start with someone you know,” said Musah.

“It’s nice to see him score here every week, against great teams, he is doing great. When we were not here we said it would have been nice to play together for a top club. When he arrived, he texted me because there were rumours and I kept him updated, so he was happy when I arrived.”
