Murillo, himself only joining the Nerazzurri this July after being signed officially last February, had only good things to say about his future partner.

“He's a great player,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Obviously I know him well, because I played against him in the Liga over these years.

“He was decisive with Atletico Madrid, who are no ordinary team.

“It would be nice to be able to play alongside him.”

Even so, the player did not have much to say about his imminent future at Inter.

“To be honest I'm not thinking about it much. I'm playing my first Copa America, I started on a path with this team and the international group has my full attention.

“We'll think about Inter later.

Milan signing Jackson Martinez? They're picking up a wonderful person, and above all else an immense player.”

Murillo couldn't hide his satisfaction at having scored in the 1-0 victory against Brazil in yesterday's Copa America game.

“It was my best game with Colombia, because I scored but especially because we won.

“Last time that we beat Brazil in the Copa America I wasn't even born.”
