La Dea thumped Benevento 4-1 at the Stadio Vigorito this afternoon, with Ilicic, Duvan Zapata, Rafael Toloi and Muriel goals.

“I had a slight muscular issue, but it’s better now. I think the coach uses me for good luck, as every time I stand up off the bench to warm up, we score a goal!” laughed Muriel on Sky Sport Italia.

“Kidding aside, I hope to continue scoring goals and helping the team. We’re doing such great work every day, this is a team that creates chances constantly and us strikers need to be on our toes, always wide away because the opportunities come at any moment.”

Many of those were created today by Ilicic, who scored one, hit the woodwork, and provided a couple of assists.

“It’s wonderful to play with Ilicic. We have a lot of players with quality, but he is unique. He is so elegant on the ball, he seems to be floating above the pitch. He’s so good, he gives me a headache!”

Are Atalanta back in business with three consecutive victories, scoring 12 goals and conceding two?

“I don’t think we ever went away. It’s normal we would feel a little tired during the Champions League group stage, but we’re in good shape now and we want to keep improving.”
