“I’ve often started from the bench since I arrived here, but now a few games are remaining and I can still improve,” the former Sevilla man told Sky Sport Italia.
“We always remained focused, we have played many games this season and even if the last two didn’t go well for me, there is always time to do well.
“Today’s game was not easy, there was a lot of pressure, but we remained focused, and we took three important points home.”
The 30-year-old has been linked with a move to Inter, but he suggested he wants to stay at Atalanta.
“I think we dropped a few points this season, we could have been closer to the first place,” he said.
“We can fight against the bigger clubs, we want to stay up there in the future.
“Our coach is very ambitious, he always wants more from us. We want to continue here, we want to bring Atalanta up there. This is the best season of my career, I want to continue and do well.”
