Initially Coach Pippo Inzaghi had said he “preferred not to call Muntari so that he can continue training at Milanello.”

However, agent Federico Pastorello made the situation clear via Twitter.

“He asked not to be added to the squad, because he knows he’s not in Milan’s plans for next season. Milan said OK.”

The Ghana international’s experience with the Rossoneri is to all intents and purposes now over.

The situation has been increasingly tense since Muntari threw a water bottle and towel towards the bench after a substitution.

His contract was extened and improved in June, so now runs to 2016, but it’s likely he will terminate by mutual consent.
