Sampdoria’s on-loan defender Ezequiel Munoz says he hasn’t signed for Milan – at least not yet.

The Argentine was believed to have agreed a pre-contract deal with Milan, and the Rossoneri tried to bring him to San Siro in the transfer window.

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini declared that he’d rather see Munoz rot in the stands than lose him to Milan for free, and sent him to Sampdoria instead.

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini declared that he’d rather see Munoz rot in the stands than lose him to Milan for free, and sent him to Sampdoria instead.

“There are a lot of people saying I’ve already signed [for Milan],” Munoz considered as he was officially presented as a Sampdoria player.

“It’s not true. We’ll see what will happen in June. I came to Sampdoria to do well. I want to help the team.

“I found out on the last day of the transfer window about the possibility of coming here, and there was no doubt that I had to say yes.

“This is a club that’s doing great things. My first impression of the team is great, and I felt that with [Samp Coach Sinisa] Mihajlovic too.

“The team is doing well, but our first target has to be safety. Only then can we dream of the Europa League, or even the Champions League.”

Munoz also discussed Samuel Eto’o, who caused controversy this week by storming out of training.

“We all know his value as a player and what he’ll bring to the team, both on and off the pitch.

“It’s a great pleasure to have him in the team.”
