After reports from Russia that Milan were close to Rubin Kazan winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, multiple sources insist there’s no truth in the links.

The original report came from Metaratings, who insisted a deal was close to completion and brokered by former Rossoneri defender and fellow Georgian Kakha Kaladze.

However, Antonio Vitiello, MilanNews.it, Carlo Pellegatti and also Georgian reporter Lasha Kokiashvili are all adamant there is no particular interest from Milan.

At most, there has been a request for information on his status, but nothing resembling transfer negotiations, let alone a deal.

The 20-year-old is a senior Georgia international with three goals in eight caps.

He joined Rubin Kazan as a free agent in 2019 and is under contract with the Russian club until June 2024.

Borussia Monchengladbach had also been linked with Kvaratskhelia as part of the original report on a potential switch to Milan.

The player’s father told Sportall that he would not remain at Rubin Kazan, as he was aiming for a big European club.
