Roma travel to Bergamo this afternoon and they’ll be hoping for their first win over Atalanta in years.

The Giallorossi have not beaten them since August 20 2017, when they won 1-0 at the Gewiss Stadium. Since then, they have drawn against la Dea three times and lost four times, a bad sign ahead of this afternoon’s match.

Jose Mourinho’s side currently sit 6th in the Serie A table after 17 games and they’ve won three of their last five league outings, losing the other two. The Roman club’s attacking stats have been impressive this season but their poor finishing has seen them drop points on multiple occasions.

Atalanta’s strong form has continued this campaign, with Gian Piero Gasperini’s side sitting third in the table, only two points behind second place Milan. A victory against Roma today would see them sit only three points behind league leaders Inter.

Last season Atalanta were dominant over Roma in their meeting in Bergamo, winning 4-1, whilst the return leg in the Italian capital ended 1-1.
