According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Roma boss José Mourinho is pushing to sign Paulo Dybala and even informed the Argentinean about his desire in January.

La Joya will leave Juventus at the end of his contract in June and has been linked with a number of clubs around Europe. Inter seem to be in pole position to secure his services, but Mourinho is determined to sign the 28-year-old in the summer.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports that a member of Dybala’s entourage believes a move to Roma would be the ‘best option’ for the striker, who is considering a transfer to the Stadio Olimpico.

Dybala’s entourage has held talks with Inter and a few European clubs, including Arsenal, Newcastle United, Barcelona, Manchester United, Tottenham and Sevilla, but Roma are also among the options.

Mourinho is a huge admirer of La Joya and even informed him about his desire to work together after the last meeting between Juventus and Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in January.

According to the report, Mourinho told Dybala: ‘You are a great player and I’d like to coach a player like you.’

Dybala’s agent Jorge Antun was in Rome this week and was supposed to meet Tiago Pinto, but the summit was postponed following the Giallorossi’s defeat against Fiorentina on Monday night. The loss means that Roma still haven’t yet secured a European spot.

The Giallorossi want to have clear ideas about the future, especially in financial terms. Qualifying for a European competition would give the club enough resources to recruit a player like La Joya.

Dybala is tempted to join Roma and the last two European games against Bodo/Glimt and Leicester City played at a sold-out Olimpico impressed La Joya, making him consider a move to the capital in the summer.

  1. don’t see it happening but remember Roma has new owners and they need to invest if they want to compete. Nothing new under the sun

  2. Dybala rate is €10m annually for 3 years. Total of €30m.

You can also split it to €4.5m salary, and €15-16.5m signing bonus. Total of around €30m.

  3. If Zaniolo could be offered somewhere, they would have just the cash…however conference league champs do not compete in CL.

  4. With Jose Mourinho be sure to attract grt player’s like Dybala, with Mourinho anything is possible

  5. Remember what Michael Jackson tells Paul McCartney in The Girl Is Mine: “You keep dreamin’!”

Then fleeced him out of the Beatles catalogue. Paul’s ben trying to get it back ever since and even asked others to chip in and buy it back but they did not, why? Did not trust him as he was always the anti-beatle-been doing a study on the first 5-6 years before he took over against their will and every time you see a pic of lennon all grin and happy you see a Paul in the corner stoic, very disturbing odd startling finds.
