José Mourinho insists that ‘every trophy is special’ and believes Francesco Totti’s potential return to Roma is ‘not a problem.’

The Portuguese coach has released an exclusive interview with La Gazzetta Dello Sport on the eve of Roma’s away clash against Inter tomorrow.

It’s his third game at San Siro against Inter as an opponent, but tomorrow he won’t be on the touchline, having received a red card in the previous match with Atalanta.

The Special One had won the treble at Inter in 2009-10 and led Roma to win their first European trophy last season when the Giallorossi lifted the Conference League. He has won titles in Spain, England and Portugal, but can’t choose his favourite one.

“To me, it is impossible to choose, every trophy is unique,” he said.

Mourinho was also asked his thoughts on Totti’s potential return to the Stadio Olimpico as a director. The ex-striker is said to have a solid bond with the Friedkin family and there had been rumours that he could be back at the club last season.

“This problem does not exist,” said Mourinho. “Francesco will always be a symbol of Roma, regardless of what he will do in his life.”

The match between Inter and Roma is also a meeting between the cities of Milan and Rome in one of the most emblematic stadiums of Mourinho’s career.

“Milan is the engine of Italy’s economy, Rome is the political centre and, we can say, the open-air museum of Italy’s history,” noted the Special One. “I am lucky to have had the chance to coach in both cities.

“Every stadium brings strong and pleasant memories, each one of them representing essential phases of my career. “
