Jose Mourinho reportedly spoke to Sergio Ramos and Roma are considering making a move for the Spanish centre-back.

The 35-year-old left Real Madrid after 16 years and has been linked with half of Europe so far, including Milan in Serie A.

Roma are, according to Calciomercato.com, also thinking of how to lure the veteran to the Olimpico.

His former coach Mourinho is taking over at La Lupa this summer and the two spoke over the phone after the Merengues defender had confirmed he will move.

The former Sevilla defender has won the World Cup and two European Championships with Spain but was not picked for Euro 2020, and then his contract with Madrid waas not renewed at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The report claims it was a conversation between friends on a difficult day for the former captain, but also an opportunity to speak about the future.

Mourinho hopes to convince his former pupil to move the Italian capital, but the first obstacle for Roma would be the salary demands.

The Giallorossi will also struggle to compete with the top teams, who can offer Champions League football for the veteran.

Ramos has won the competition four times, as well as five La Liga titles and two Copa del Rey during his time with Los Blancos.
