According to Il Corriere dello Sport, José Mourinho is targeting more Premier League players after signing Tammy Abraham last summer, with Douglas Luiz, Nemanja Matic, Diogo Dalot and Eric Bailly all linked with a move to the Stadio Olimpico.

Roma have yet to secure a European spot but have qualified for the first European final in 31 years and could lift the Conference League in the Final against Feyenoord next week. Mourinho has ensured that he won’t leave the club in 2022-23 and is already preparing for the new season.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports that the Special One wants to sign more Premier League players at Roma after securing the services of Tammy Abraham from Chelsea last summer. Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz is one of the club’s priorities and has been on the Giallorossi’s agenda for more than two years. Villa value the Brazilian midfielder at €35m, but his price tag could decrease given that his contract runs out in June 2023.

Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka remains a target of the Giallorossi, but the Swiss international is unlikely to leave the Emirates Stadium in the summer.

‘It’s not good’ Mourinho responds to Matic transfer links

On the contrary, Matic, Bailly and Diogo Dalot could all leave Manchester United and Mourinho would be happy to welcome them at the Stadio Olimpico.

Mourinho bought Dalot at United in 2018, but the 23-year-old has been struggling with playing time at Old Trafford. Nevertheless, he had a decent loan spell at Milan in 20202-21, so he is open to returning to Italy next season.

Matic has already played under Mourinho at Chelsea and United and the Portuguese tactician said last week that the midfielder is ‘a great player’ but refused to further speculate over a possible transfer.
