Mourinho still the main character at Roma

Despite the recent disappointing results, there’s no doubt that Jose Mourinho is still the central figure at Roma, seeming in his element in the Italian capital.

The Portuguese coach guided the Giallorossi to their first ever major European honour in the Europa Conference League last season and has brought them to the semi-finals of the Europa League this campaign, working hard to pick up another trophy for the club.

Domestically, things have been a little more difficult this season and the defeat to Inter leaves Roma in seventh. In recent months, Mourinho has also been linked with multiple jobs abroad, including the Portuguese and Brazilian national teams, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain.

After Roma’s 2-0 loss to Inter, Mourinho gathered the squad in a large huddle, wanting to keep them united and focused in the final stages of this season. After this, he brought the team to the Giallorossi fans at the Curva Sud.

The Portuguese coach also greeted the Inter fans after their supportive chants, referencing his work in their Treble winning campaign over a decade ago.

When Roma started to return to the dressing room, Mourinho went to hug 18-year-old Niccolo Pisilli, who made his first-team debut in the loss to Inter.
