Jose Mourinho confirmed Mohamed Salah will play in Italy this season, as Chelsea strike a deal with Roma.
“He doesn’t belong in my squad and he’s not staying here,” declared Mourinho during the US summer tour.
“The important thing is that he plays like he did at Fiorentina, so I’m happy with him going on a loan.
“Italian football is difficult to play, especially for attacking players. If it’s not Fiorentina, it’s Roma or Inter or Juve – I don’t know. Maybe he has a loan.

“He’s a good boy and a good player. He needs more top level football, so I’m happy with any decision he and the club make.”
Salah is down to the details with Roma, set for a loan with option to buy at the end of the season.
However, the move is being held up by Fiorentina, who demand compensation for his refusal to extend the loan spell by another season.
The Viola are in negotiations with Chelsea lawyers to find a solution, but FIFA arbitration is possible.
