José Mourinho refused to reveal which Roma player will step up if the Giallorossi are awarded a penalty kick against Juventus tomorrow ‘otherwise, Mattia Perin and Wojciech Szczesny will study.’

The Giallorossi travel to the Allianz Stadium tomorrow. Only Roma, Inter and Napoli have won the opening two Serie A games, while Juventus have collected one draw and one win so far.

Roma missed one penalty kick in each one of last season’s two games against Juventus and Mourinho refused to reveal his penalty kick tacker for tomorrow’s game.

“We don’t have a penalty kick taker for the season, it depends on our analysis. But for tomorrow, we know who will take a penalty,” he admitted.

“I won’t tell you because otherwise, Perin and Szczesny will study for 20 hours.”

Szczesny is expected to return to action tomorrow. The Poland international saved penalties on Jordan Veretout in Turin and Lorenzo Pellegrini in Rome last season.

Felix Afena-Gyan won’t join the team in Turin as he is on the verge of joining Cremonese permanently.

“Felix won’t be called up. There are high chances for him to go elsewhere, and we don’t want to take risks,” said Mourinho.

One of the most experienced Italian referees, Massimiliano Irrati, will oversee the Allianz Stadium tomorrow. What does Mourinho make of his appointment?

“I won’t think about what happened in previous games, every top referee is welcome,” he said. “I judge what happens after games, but before the match, I am positive with all the referees.”
