According to Il Messaggero, Roma starlet Felix Afena-Gyan has been dropped from the first team as José Mourinho was disappointed to find out that the 19-year-old had gone clubbing on Saturday.

The Ghana international made his senior debut under Mourinho this term, scoring two goals on his third Serie A appearance on November 21.

He has already played 12 games in Italy’s top flight, but according to Il Messaggero newspaper, he won’t be part of the first time for the next few weeks. Mourinho has decided to drop the striker to the Primavera team after finding out that he had gone clubbing on Saturday.

Afena-Gyan was not available for Sunday’s match against Spezia due to a minor injury and returned to Trigoria, where he lives in the club’s boarding school, at late night with two of his Primavera teammates: Benjamin Tahirovic and Jan Oliveras.

Mourinho was disappointed by the striker’s behaviour and Afena-Gyan has been training with the Primavera team since yesterday. Roma had asked their players to avoid going out in crowded places, but didn’t Nicolò Zaniolo and Stephan El Shaarawy when the Italy internationals went clubbing less than two weeks ago.

However, Mourinho dropped Zaniolo for the Serie A match against Spezia on Sunday with the 22-year-old introduced as a substitute in the second half.
