The Partenopei go into the Stadio Olimpico with a 100 per cent Serie A record, winning eight out of eight under Luciano Spalletti.

“I was not remotely surprised by Napoli’s start to the season. I expected them to have a great campaign, it’s a strong team, a strong coach, so not surprising at all,” shrugged Mourinho on DAZN.

The Portuguese tactician believes it will be a game won and lost on the wings, as both Napoli and Roma attack using a lot of width.

“Roma always play aggressively, even in the games we lost. We respect the quality of Politano, Insigne, etc, but they too will have to worry about our players on the wings.”

Nicolò Zaniolo is back in the starting XI after a slight knee injury, so how long can he play today before having to come off?

“I don’t know, as far as I am concerned 90 minutes, but we will see.”

Mourinho sent Borja Mayoral, Gonzalo Villar, Marash Kumbulla, Amadou Diawara and Bryan Reynolds to the stands after criticising their performances in Thursday’s 6-1 Europa Conference League defeat to Bodo/Glimt in Norway.
