Jose Mourinho has been named Serie A Coach of the Month for August and will receive his award ahead of Roma’s top of the table showdown with Atalanta.
The Giallorossi are the joint leaders of Serie A after four rounds, still unbeaten after three wins and a draw against Juventus.
Mourinho was given the honour by a jury of directors of sports media and he will receive the trophy marking this achievement ahead of the next home match, which is against Atalanta on Sunday September 18.
“Jose Mourinho has once again confirmed himself as one of the best coaches in our league,” said Lega Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo.
“The Portuguese coach has been able to convey the great ambitions of the Giallorossi by transforming them into results on the pitch.
“His extraordinary motivational skills, his tactical knowledge and his ability to elevate the performance of his players have allowed Roma to get off to the best possible start this season and conquer the top of the table, with three wins in four matches and only one goal conceded.”
