A 23-year-old Roma fan suffered a cardiac arrest at the Stadio Olimpico during the Giallorossi’s match against Spezia last night and José Mourinho promised to gift him his jacket once he is discharged from hospital.

Immediate help was given to the fan, who suffered cardiac arrest in the Curva Sud during the first half of the match. He was resuscitated with a defibrillator before being rushed to the Gemelli University Hospital, which is not far from the Stadio Olimpico.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the 23-year-old Giallorossi fan fell ill again whilst in the ambulance and was immediately intubated and sedated upon arriving at the hospital.

The Curva Sud fell silent once the news had spread and this respectful silence spread around the Stadio Olimpico as the news travelled. The fan is now recovering in the Gemelli University Hospital.

José Mourinho promised he’d gift his jacket to the fan, once he is discharged from hospital: “I only realized [about the incident] at the end of the match. If he gives me his address, I’ll send him my jacket, so the next time he comes to the stadium with this cold, he’ll have my jacket with him.”

Roma would go on to win that match against Spezia 2-0, with goals coming from Chris Smalling in the sixth minute and Roger Ibanez in the 56th minute.

  1. 23 year olds don’t have cardiac arrests. just like how 12 year olds don’t have cardiac arrests… i feel like i’m in the twilight zone

    It’s the VACCINES!

  2. Totally agree, bizarre how many people are having cardiac arrests since the vaccine has been in circulation.

What’s even more bizarre is that no one mentions it and the government are trying to make it mandatory
