After picking up just a single point in their first three games, Jose Mourinho is working hard to find the right answers at Roma to turn things around.
Limited by financial restrictions imposed by their Financial Fair Play settlement with UEFA, the Giallorossi carried out a low-cost summer transfer window, only signing one player on a definitive transfer – Leandro Paredes, for around €2.5m. The other reinforcements arrived on loan or free transfers.
Roma have not started the new season well, however, suffering losses to Milan and Hellas Verona. Their only point comes from a 2-2 draw with Salernitana on the opening weekend of the campaign.
As highlighted by Corriere dello Sport via TMW, Mourinho is hoping to see a strong response from the core of his Roma squad in their next games after the international break.
Various players, from Rui Patricio and Chris Smalling to Lorenzo Pellegrini and Paulo Dybala, are expected to step up and start performing after the team’s disastrous opening three fixtures.
