The 25-year-old Algerian midfielder joined the Giallorossi on a free transfer this month, ending a career-long association with boyhood club Olympique Lyon.
Roma fell just short of glory last season, losing to Sevilla on penalties in the Europa League final, so they’re targeting a top four finish in the coming campaign as they fight to return to the Champions League.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport via TMW, Aouar has quickly managed to make a strong impression on coach Mourinho, who was left satisfied with the 25-year-old’s work in his first four days in training.
The Algerian midfielder has stood out with his technical abilities, his movements on and off the ball, and his eagerness to be involved in play.
During his time with Lyon, Aouar scored 41 goals and provided 36 assists in 233 appearances across all competitions.
