José Mourinho laughs off rumours that link him with the PSG job: ‘If they called, they didn’t find me.’

The Portuguese boss has a contract until 2024 at the Stadio Olimpico but has been heavily linked with a move to Paris, where he’d replace Christophe Galtier in 2023-24.

The latest reports in France suggest the Ligue 1 giants have made contact with Mou, but the Special One insisted he hadn’t heard from PSG directors lately.

“If they called, they didn’t find me, I’ve never spoken to them,” a smiling Mourinho told Sky Sport Italia on Wednesday before a pre-match press conference.

Roma will meet Bayer Leverkusen, coached by Mourinho’s former player Xabi Alonso, on Thursday in the first leg of the Europa League semi-finals.

“They are among the best teams in Europe for counter-attacks,” said Mourinho.

“They are very dangerous in this moment of the game, they defend, wait for the opponent to lose the ball and then it’s difficult to stop them. They have many fast attacking players.”

Paulo Dybala and Gini Wijnaldum were seen in training this morning, but Mourinho maintained that they were unlikely to start.

“It’s difficult, I am not saying impossible, but it’s difficult. I don’t know how long they can play. Tomorrow morning we’ll see if they can start or not. They are doing their best to recover and we prepare the game with them and without them.”

Dybala sustained an ankle injury during a 3-1 loss against Atalanta on April 24, while Wijnaldum is dealing with a flexor problem sustained in the quarter-final second leg against Feyenoord.
