Roma coach Jose Mourinho has been in direct contact with Georginio Wijnaldum, claim reports, but PSG must cover at least half his salary to make the loan move work.

The midfielder only left Liverpool a year ago to join PSG as a free agent and he chose them thanks also to the €9m per season net wages on offer.

He struggled to make an impact in Paris and is already on the list of players who can leave this summer under new coach Christophe Galtier.

According to multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia, Roma have been offered Wijnaldum on loan, but would not be able to pay his salary.

If the move does go through, then PSG must cover at least 50 per cent of those wages during the loan period at the Stadio Olimpico.

Meanwhile, it is also suggested that Mourinho has personally been in telephone contact with Wijnaldum to convince him to accept the destination.

The 31-year-old has 86 senior caps for the Netherlands, in which he scored 26 goals.

  1. @Moses, Still keeping myself grounded and aiming for a top four this season but Mourinho is certainly building a Roman Empire.
This club under Mourinho and the Friedkin’s, anything is possible. We’re certainly on the rise but please stay grounded. It’s a long season ahead but everything is looking positive so far.

  2. @Moses, ur dreaming, your defence is poor and you still need bench players, plus xaniola will leave for juve in next coming days
