Roma and Jose Mourinho could look to the Premier League again for their next left-back, reportedly targeting Liverpool’s Konstantinos Tsimikas.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Giallorossi have set their sights on the Greece international who turns 26 next week.

He was signed from Olympiacos in the summer of 2020 for €13m, with previous experiences in Denmark and the Netherlands.

So far this season, he has made 22 competitive appearances in the Liverpool jersey, providing six assists for his Liverpool teammates.

Tsimikas is under contract until June 2025 and the report states Mourinho personally pointed him out to Roma directors.

It is certainly not the first time that the Greece international has been linked with a Serie A move, as he was also close to Napoli before choosing Anfield.

Seeking a left-back would be somewhat surprising, considering Leonardo Spinazzola is finally ready for his comeback almost a year after tearing his Achilles tendon during Italy’s UEFA EURO 2020 campaign.

Nicola Zalewski has also emerged as a huge talent in that role, although it is not necessarily his favoured position.

  1. Calciomercato must have 3 pots when writing stories. One with the teams, one with player names, and the other with manager names. Then they all take copious amounts of illicit substances and start pulling names out of the pots and vomit out the stories. FI as a faithful lapdog, dutifully chomps and regurgitates them on here.

  2. That sounds strange. Spina and Cala will return next season. Either 4232 or 3421, they both should be enought. Zalewski also can fit into the slot if needed.

All three I mentioned wont be cut out of the team next season right, RIGHT?

  3. Calafiori has lost his place in the team to Zalewski for good. In fact, Zalewski is the first option now.
