Jose Mourinho has confirmed his plans ahead of next season, ready to move on following his recent sacking from Roma.
The 61-year-old Portuguese coach spent 30 months at the helm of the Giallorossi from July 2021 to January of this year, guiding the club to a Europa Conference League title and Europa League final, which they lost to Sevilla on penalties.
The wheels started to come off the Mourinho project at Roma this season and he was dismissed on January 16 following a 3-1 loss away to Milan, a result that left his side ninth in the Serie A table. He was replaced by Daniele De Rossi, who has immediately impressed in the capital.
Speaking to A Bola at the Portuguese MotoGP Grand Prix in Portimao via Calciomercato.com, Mourinho was asked what his next steps would be following his Roma spell.
“For the moment there’s zero news, zero news. I don’t have a club, I’m free, but I want to work. Don’t worry, this summer I want to go back to work. My life is football, I can coach anywhere, I have no problems.”
He was then asked about the idea of returning to the Portuguese league.
“Never say never, especially in football.”
Mourinho seemingly has a long list of options ahead of the summer, with possible destinations including the Portuguese and Brazilian national teams, Bayern Munich, Napoli, a return to the Premier League and the riches of Saudi Arabia.
