Jose Mourinho refused to talk to the media following his ambiguous red card in Roma’s 2-2 draw with Hellas Verona yesterday, but he revealed some thoughts on his Instagram.

The Gialloblu took an early 2-0 lead, leaving the Giallorossi frustrated as they fought hard to try and grind out a result. Eventually they succeeded, with two late goals from teenagers, but tensions were still incredibly high in the Stadio Olimpico.

Mourinho was very nervous throughout the match and at one point he kicked a ball away in frustration following a debate with the fourth official. Things peaked near the end of the match, when the Portuguese coach made a telephone gesture to referee Luca Pairetto, who promptly sent him off. The meaning behind this gesture is unclear and for now remains unexplained.

Mourinho chose not to talk to the media following the match, although he did later offer up some thoughts on Instagram, saying:

“Picture 1 ball possession, picture 2 direct football, picture 3 I love these people and for them I fight, picture 4 I don’t talk, is better to go home and have a nice dinner. Have a good Sunday.”

  1. He’s saying he fights for the fans because he’s trying to keep in their good books as things aren’t going well.

Roma are the same they’ve always been – bottlers.

  2. @Interisti

What? Why do people always go to their default setting of mentioning Juventus? lol

Inter look to be going that way too. They’re all pretty poor, to be honest.
