Catania sporting director Pietro Lo Monaco is adamant that new signing Marco Motta can return to the Italian national set-up.

Motta made his Italy debut under Cesare Prandelli in the summer of 2010, but he hasn’t appeared for the Azzurri since.

“Motta is a player with experience,” Lo Monaco commented. “He’ll give a vital contribution to the cause. You’ll see.

“By playing regularly at Catania, he could return to the international scene.”

Motta didn’t play a single minute under Antonio Conte in Turin this season, despite being signed outright from Udinese” data-scaytid=”18″>Udinese in the summer.

The right-back, who spent last term on loan at Juve, cost the Bianconeri5m in total.
