Spezia coach Thiago Motta felt his men were close to scoring a third against Juventus but stressed the Aquilotti faced a team ‘who needed points’ in the 3-2 defeat.
The home side turned the game around after Moise Kean opened the scoring for Juventus in the first half, as Emanuel Gyasi and Janis Antiste turned the game around on either side of the break.
Goals from Federico Chiesa and Matthijs de Ligt helped Max Allegri’s men pick up their first win this season, but Motta was proud of his team.
“I bring certainties home, for sure,” Motta told DAZN after the game. “Even if we were playing at home against a Juventus who needed points.
“We were close to 3-1: in terms of performance, we did well, on other things we need to improve. What was missing? The goal…
“We can talk as much as we want, but if we made it 3-1, it would have completely changed the game.”
