Stefano Pioli assures Ravel Morrison is staying at Lazio but ‘he has to work harder when he doesn’t have the ball’.

The midfielder has been linked with a return to England, with reports in Italy suggesting he wants to join Queens Park Rangers.

“Morrison will definitely stay with us,” Pioli told journalists in a Press conference ahead of the Bologna game.

“There’s never been any possibility of him leaving. He has technical quality, he’s improving, but there’s work to be done from a tactical point of view.

“He has to work harder when he doesn’t have the ball. If he does that then he’ll get his chance.”

Pioli also revealed the returning Stefano Mauri will be in the squad for tomorrow’s match, despite only re-signing this week.

“I think he’ll be called-up, he’s been training. He’s lacking match sharpness, but he’s very happy, I think he’ll be available.

“I’m glad Mauri has returned, he completes the attack, he can play wide, through the middle or at trequartista which gives us a lot of options.

“At the moment we have eight attacking players, including Morrison. We have experienced players who are ready, and young players who we can rely on.

“It’s also true that the transfer window is still open.”
