The Aquile Coach at the time, Stefano Pioli, said Morrison hadn’t shown he could work hard for the team and “didn’t speak a word of Italian”.

A loan return to Queens Park Rangers in January failed to yield a permanent move, and it was reported today that he had the option of moving to Mexico.

Now Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports that Atlas have agreed a deal with Lazio for a loan, with an obligation to buy after a certain number of appearances.

The 24-year-old is currently in Guadalajara with his agent, the website reports, and has had a tour of the city and the club’s facilities.

All that remains now is for Morrison to accept the move.
