More trophies, but fewer points than Conte: is Inzaghi’s glass half empty or full?

Simone Inzaghi has already won more trophies than Antonio Conte at Inter, but the Nerazzurri have collected ten points less than last season, so is Inzaghi’s glass half empty or full?

The Serie A giants could complete a domestic treble on Sunday but need to win against Sampdoria at home, hoping to see Milan slip at the Mapei Stadium against Sassuolo. Inzaghi has already won the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa in his first season at the Stadio Meazza, surpassing Antonio Conte for trophies conquered with the Nerazzurri.

However, the current Tottenham boss won the Serie A title at Inter last season, their first in 11 years. Inzaghi saw Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku leave in the summer as the Nerazzurri owners Suning needed to balance the books and sent their stars to PSG and Chelsea, respectively, for a combined €183m fee.

Conte had already won the title at this stage of the season last term but managed a more valuable squad than the current one. Inzaghi was forced to work with fewer resources than his predecessor but could lose the title against a less valuable and experienced team like Milan. So, what if the Rossoneri become Serie A champions? Would Inzaghi’s glass be half empty or full?
