Reports are spreading rapidly that Milan have lost out on Renato Sanches, as he is now determined to join PSG, even if they are offering a lower transfer fee to LOSC.

The midfielder had been on the Rossoneri’s radar for many months and with his contract set to expire in June 2023, will be sold this summer.

Milan had reportedly offered circa €18m including bonuses, a fee that Lille had rejected, but they were confident the player was eager to join them.

The situation has now changed, as multiple sources including Le Parisien, Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio and le10sport all claim today that Renato Sanches is now determined to join Paris Saint-Germain instead.

He was convinced by new director of sport Luis Campos, the man who had first engineered his transfer to LOSC in 2019.

There will also be a reunion at PSG with former Lille coach Christophe Galtier, who is set to take over from Mauricio Pochettino after terminating his contract with OGC Nice.

It would be the second LOSC player that Milan have lost out on after Sven Botman opted for Newcastle United.

However, while that was a bidding war they backed out of at €37m plus bonuses, in this case the reports all state PSG have offered only €10m.

  1. Some God is playing a long running joke on Milan. Even after winning the Scudetto we can’t take a break from this ****. Every transfer window the same thing.

Oh well, let’s see if Maldini and friends can work their magic again. Some of our alternatives turned out better than first choices last time out (Tomori and Kalulu) but will lightning strike twice?

  2. Even magic doesn’t work without money! Players have become like those musical jukeboxes ! They play to those who put in more money. Now I don’t believe in good mercato anymore either.

  3. @ Milan fan
A scudetto winning squad is far far better to retain than unsettled with too many new players… chemistry is the most important thing in football of course with quality additions

  4. Calm down Milan Fan, chill.

The most pressing issue here is the signature of Maldini. The rest, well, can’t lose what you never had. If it’s true that PSG had lower bid and Renato accepted it, it just meant that we couldn’t match his salary demands anyway. I would of course prefer the squad to becompleted for the preseason but considering the distraction of takeover and all, we gotta be patient.

With all due respect, this is off season. Can’t take all these “noises” and reacted like a kid every single time.

  5. How tight is the budget? We’re losing one target after another over small details. It’s starting to look like we’re gonna spend the next few years waiting for a new management who is willing to invest, again!

  6. @ ACM
Milan already have quite an apt addition to the midfield… Yacine Adli and Tomaso pobega is back to quality and younger addition…
Milan priority is Forward and trequartista role a young centre forward and technical Attacking midfielder.. the other part of the squad is okay..

  7. I’ll be crying about this all day.

O Renato, Renato wherefore art thou Renato? Off to PSG leaving a spot for a player who actually wants to play for Milan? Oh, fine then.
