Milan sweat over Ismael Bennacer’s fitness after a 2-0 loss against Inter as the Algeria international was seen leaving San Siro on crutches.

It’s going from bad to worse for the Rossoneri who faced defeat in the Champions League semi-final first leg against their city rivals at the Stadio Meazza on Wednesday, losing one of their key players to an injury.

Bennacer was replaced after only 18 minutes due to a suspected knee injury and Sky Sport Italia showed during their post-match show that the former Empoli midfielder had left the stadium on crutches.

According to the Italian broadcasters, Bennacer will undergo medical examinations on Thursday, but he’s now a big doubt ahead of next week’s second leg. It will be played on Tuesday, May 16 and it will be a home fixture for the Nerazzurri.

Bennacer has three goals and two assists in 40 appearances across all competitions this season.

His teammate Rafael Leao missed the first leg due to an adductor injury, but Milan hope the Portuguese will be back next week.
