The Nerazzurri, together with Juventus and Milan, confirmed on April 18 they had agreed to join the Super League.

But Inter were today the first of the three Italian teams to withdraw, as the project has collapsed within days.

The former patron claimed the project ‘was a bad attempt’ to break away and didn’t seem to have the fundament to succeed.

“By now, the teams have all left,” Moratti told La Repubblica. “It was a bad attempt and didn’t have the basis to continue, so this was the right ending.

“They were wrong in communication and timing, as well as in the evaluation of reactions. In itself, it was a failure from the start.”
