Former Inter President Massimo Moratti says investment from China “can strengthen the club”.

It has been suggested that the Suning Group is looking to take a 20 per cent share in the Nerazzurri, including six per cent from Moratti.

The former patron has denied that he intends to sell any shares, but appears to be open to investment from the Far East.

“The Suning Group?” Moratti considered, speaking to reporters in Milan.

“They’re very reliable, they can strengthen the club.

“Could I return as President? It’s a journalistic suggestion. Inter has ownership of its own, it’s own direction and its own projects. I’d never put obstacles in the way of that.”

Moratti was also asked about the red and black half of the city, with Milan having sacked Sinisa Mihajlovic.

“I was very struck by his sacking. I respect him a lot, but Coaches have a hard life.

“Roberto Mancini? He has the support of the club. He has won League titles in the last minute, so we have to wait for something good from him.”

Finally, the oil tycoon was asked about Mario Balotelli, a former Nerazzurro who is now at Milan.

"We’re talking about a player with infinite class,” Moratti insisted.
