Ex-Inter President Massimo Moratti says Inter's victory against Chievo can be a good starting point for the club.
Moratti was in New York to present the Inter Campus project simultaneously as his former team were kicking off against Chievo. After learning of the 2-0 victory, he seemed optimistic about the future of the Nerazzurri.
“It's a good sign, a step forward in the standings,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “It's especially good for [Coach Roberto] Mancini and for the confidence he is instilling into his boys.

“Everybody is always talking about a game that may represent a turning-point, but what matters is making points and trying to win as much as possible.
“I think this success can be a good starting point. But in the end it depends on the players – it's up to them to turn the ideas of the Coach into good results. I hope they can do that again on Sunday.”
While recognising the positive moment, the ex-mogul preferred not to express himself on what reinforcements Inter may require from the upcoming transfer window.
“These are matters for the Coach. As a supporter, when things are looking bad, you'd change everything.
“But as a President you cannot say things like that.”
Moratti was also questioned as to why Walter Mazzarri disappointed expectations at Inter.
“He is undoubtedly an excellent, quality Coach, and what's going on with Napoli now is the proof of that.
“In certain cases the Coach can't fit in properly with a club. Besides, many things have happened, such as the new ownership.
“This must have caused him problems, and the situation cannot have been easy.
“And it's understandable that an excellent Coach may not always perform the way he's expected to. It happened to me a few times with Inter."
Finally, Moratti sounded skeptical about a possible return of Mario Balotelli to Inter.
“He only just landed in Liverpool, I would imagine that his priority would be playing well with them.”
